I had laser surgery a couple of years ago and am very glad I did. Having said that, no surgery is 100% safe and I despise to hear about those who came out with problems.
Not sure what can be done when things go incorrect.
That’s terrible news… Where did she go? and what treatment did she have done? I went with Optical Express…I did a honest bitof research and checked out the consultant before I went… Got to say they were first class and my eyes are feeling fantastic! It’s been nearly a week now and I go back tomorrow for a check up.
You got lucky my girl complains more about her eyes now than leavin her contacts in for a few days it’s he’ll on trying to have fun on a night out.
This is a very right representation of how I was after my surgery (48 hours ago). Once the anesthetic wore off I was in a honest bit of pain with the stinging in both eyes, but nothing you can’t live with and it only lasted for a couple of hours! The results the day after were fantastic.I have better than 20/20. My eyes are a small bruised just under the top eye lid, this is normal, other than a small bit of dryness everything else is fine. I am very pleased with the results already.
Mine didn’t hurt at all?? Just the stinging!
Yeah, you loose that super close focus I know! People with normal vision can’t either. It’s amusing what you ‘miss’ when it’s gone. But lets face it, having fantastic vision…sorry you’re not quite there yet are you! Ha, give it a few days. I reckon any halo/fuzzyness I had went after a week or so. Everyone is different though so get just give yourself time to adjust.
How much did you pay? If you don’t mind me asking.
Mark
hi mark, well done, i had the same treatment at optimax 3 days ago, i cud feel the laser giving me pain as the flaps were cut,,,,
i still have halop effect, but my immediate near vision isnt there now, for eg, i cud b4 see my hand clearly infront of my eyes, now i have to hold it a foot away to focus on it?
how long did your halo effects last and did u get the same’near object vision.or lack of’?
aside from that, did u get bloodshot bruising to the upper whites of the eyball? i have,it hurts.
20/20
Yes
No
Slightly out of pocket! I will have paid it off next year. Can’t wait!
So how is your vision now after LASIK? Was it worth it? Any negative factors? etc?
Erm, all I know is that I was -6.5. This meant I wore nearly 1cm thick glasses when I was younger (at the thickest bit) before the slim lenses came into production. I was VERY small sighted! COuldn’t focus on something unles it was nearly touching my face!
)
When you mean -6.5 what you mean like -650?
Thanks my astigmatism in my right eye is12 , 2 corina transplants 1in each eye they are now 15 / 17 years which they tell my is get to there used by date . I am 47 now and do no care if i need specs or not my eye do not like bright lights. They also tell me that i can have the lenses replace in my eyes in time if i need too As for the video bit i do not know if they do here or if i would watch it . It excellent to know that there are normal as in non Doctor type to question and to talk too . Cheers
I was -6.5 and -4.25
Excellent luck!
)
I was in the clinic for about hour maximum yes.
I also have non round eyes. It makes you have an astigmatism doesn’t it? They can help right that. Although I still have a small bit of astigmatism but with 20/20 vision.
Have fun.
You should video log it and place it on this page! That would be cool.
hi you make it sound so very ezy i getting mine done on the 16/12/09 for $2500 aus , they tell my it should take about 1 hour my Corina is shaped if a AFL ball not around ball shape , felling a small frail but looking forward to having better sight .

Yes
I can see very small ‘nightglare’. Every does though right? My night driving is fine.
It is scary.
I thought it was worth the risk and I am STILL dead chuffed with my results.
Excellent luck whatever you choose!
Mark
Do you have nightglare and halo? If you do, does it effect night driving? I don’t know if I should go; kinda scary
Does it hurt? What type of procedure did you got? Where did you got it from? Did you end up with 20/20?
i had lasik 10 hours ago and is VGood .
i had only – 2. Now maybe 0. Tomarow i am going to the doctor.:)
It was -4.25 and -6.00 with astigmatism.
I was very blind, so well worth the risk in my view.
what was your pescription? im -4.25 is both eyes
What was your prescription pre-laser eye? I am considering laser eye surgery. But, my eyes are -4.75 in each eye. Is this too high to be operated on?
I couldn’t swim for 3 weeks ish, if I remember rightly. Only to avoid infection whilst the flap healed. You should never look at bright lights anytime. My corrected vision should last forever. Ancient age sight is a long sight problem that affects everyone including me. They make you quite aware of that from the start. You can’t right ancient age sight loss.
(
Im thinkin of doing lasersurgery on my both eyes within 2 years. Got a few questions; How long do u have to avoid swimming, taking a sauna, looking at bright lights etc after the surgery? And do they tell how long that “improved” vision lasts? Or is it basically like back to square one where as ur eyes lose vision by getting just older.
You didn’t watch the video to the end did you?
£3770 ALL IN
still worth it tho…although I earn rubbish money and am still paying off…I reckon it should be on the NHS for people with terrible eye sight like mine was.
